In Memory

Elaine Miller (Tunnell)

Elaine Miller (Tunnell)

We have just learned that our dear friend, Elaine Miller (Tunnell), passed away Wednesday morning, December 14, 2016.  She had been bravely battling an aggressive cancer for the past year.  She is survived by her husband of nearly 39 years, Mark Tunnell, her two daughters, Michelle and Tracy as well as six grandsons and four step-grandchildren.

Elaine was previously married to a member of the class of 1962, Richard Uppinghouse, and always spoke fondly of their time together.  She had many interests and her working life included being a manicurist, a tax-preparer, a real estate agent and assisting her husband in his acounting business.

Elaine was a gentle soul with a warm smile and a heart of gold.  She was also strong-willed and a loving guiding source for her daughters and grandsons.   She will be missed by her family and friends alike.

We will let you know when information is available about her memorial service.  Please feel free to post memories or words of friendship below.

You will be missed.  We had many memories together as neighbirs, girlfriends, "parents" and women who married tax accountants.  You made me laugh, you made me cry and you made me pause to understand a different point of view.  May you rest in peace, Elaine.

my family had  moved from Minnesota to Canyon Road right before our freshman year began, so no grade school/junior high memories; main image of Elaine= sweetness. We had a long and real conversation at both of the reunions i have attended which made me feel welcome and understood and as though we'd been good friends all the while.  Memory eternal, Elaine

Elaine, you have fought a long hard fight with dignity. Now it is time to take flight on angel wings. Your sweet personality will live on with all whose lives you have touched. Love you girlfriend, rest in peace,  Dianne

Elaine was such a "trooper"--she came to one of our last classmate luncheons-she looked wonderful and was so sweet and positive-------------so thankful we were able to spend a little more precious time with her---- every day is so special and everyone in it---------God be with her family at this time-----

I've had the pleasure of seeing Elaine and Mark at Blazer games and of course reunions the last 13 years or so. We always said we should get together for lunch but never did. I don't believe, in her memory, I will be so slow to set those lunches up in the future. Say hi to the other up there, Elaine. OK?
