Our friend, Gary Patton, has passed away.  Here is what was in the Oregonian this past Sunday, Oct. 4:

Gary C. Patton, a longtime Portland Optometrist, passed away Sept. 23, 2015.  A native Portlander, he attended Sunset High School and Porltand State University, receiving his advance degrees from Pacific Univerity.  Gary began his optometry practice with his father, Dr. jack Patton, at Zell Brothers Optical in downtown Portland and later practiced for years with Binyon Optical.  He is survived by his wife, Gayla, children, Jenny (Rob) and Alex (Giselle), stepdaughter, Krista, grandchildren, Ameila, Max and Maddy, and a large extended family which includes six brothers and sisters and their families.  Please go to www.anewtradition.com for a full obituary and details about a celebration of life.
