Tim Jones

And another of our classmates is no longer with us.  Thanks to Robert Geiger and Laura Waner Luethe for letting us know.  Tim was a very fun person in high school and it's nice to know that he had many great adventures in his life.  Sleep well, dear friend.

Timothy Jones Obituary

Timothy 'Tim' E. Jones
Jan. 14, 1945 - June 2, 2023
Timothy "Tim" E. Jones passed away Friday, June 2, 2023, at his home in San Juan Capistrano, Calif. He was 78 years old.
Born in Portland, Ore., Tim graduated from Sunset High School in 1963 and went on to attend the University of Washington for Interior Design and Architecture. He worked in Seattle, Wash., until starting his own firm, Tim Jones & Associates, Inc. in Portland in 1973. His firm designed both residential and commercial spaces. Through the years in Portland, he remodeled his four personal residences, with his favorite always remaining his Greenleaf Drive home.
While in Portland, Tim served on the board of the Oregon Humane Society and PNCA. He was active with the Portland Art Museum and a member of the Multnomah Athletic Club. His love of gardening came full circle when he became an Oregon Master Gardener. Tim's love for design and food, would take he and his wife around the world on great travel adventures. From the Olympics in Korea to Turkey, Vietnam, Portugal and Italy, were a few of his favorites. He was always up for an 'adventure' as he called them.
Moving to California in 2011, Tim was able to enjoy his passion for sailing. He would race sail every week with a group of friends. He loved the adventure of being on the water.
Tim is survived by his wife, Cassandra "Cass"; son, Scott; grandsons, Michael and Christopher; brother, Merel; and sister, Vicki. Along with in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews in Oregon.
Remembrances may be made to the Oregon Humane Society. No service is planned.

I remember hanging out with Tim when we were in drama together.  He was a fun guy and a very nice person. I was sad to hear of his passing. Rest in peace.

Tim was a grade school friend for many years.  We lived on the same street and rode the bus to Sunset Valley together for many years.  He was the last stop and I was the second to last stop.  In high school, I participated in drama club activities with Tim with the Bonnie Jean Varner "club".  So many good memories from those days.  Tim was a kind, gentle soul; somewhat quiet and always thoughtful.  I remember reconnecting with him at our 50th reunion hearing about the many interior design projects he was involved with.  Fascinating array of projects and life stories.  May you rest in peace, Tim.
