We send our appreciation to Dave Olberding for calling to our attention the passing of our classmate and friend, Bob Durst.  Below is the recent obituary published in the Oregonian.  You will be missed, Bob.

Durst, Robert 71 Nov. 18, 1944 Sept. 26, 2016 Robert (Bob) Durst, a resident of Mountain Center Calif. (Gardner Valley), died on Monday, Sept. 26, 2016. Bob is survived by his wife, Jeanette; his 5 daughters; 5 sons-in-law and 7 grandchildren. Bob was born in Portland to Willard and Dorothy Mae Durst and attended Sunset High School. He owned Durst's Thriftee Thriftway grocery store, located in NW Portland for over 30 years. He was a beloved member of the community while living in both Oregon and California and volunteered extensively in both communities. Bob was an avid outdoorsman and loved riding horses, skiing, hunting, hiking, fishing, and camping with friends and family. A charity close to Bob's heart is the Alzheimer's Foundation of America where donations may be made on his behalf.
