I reconnected with Gary when my ex-husband (Ross Phillippi-class of '62) and I used to go to the monthly pancake breakfasts at Twin Oaks Airpark, near Scholls.  Gary loved airplanes and flying and was a very enthusiastic person to hang out with.  He was friendly and eager and lots of fun to talk to.  I was shocked when I learned that he and another man crashed together on their way to the Reno Airshow.  There was a memorial service for him at Twin Oaks where I met his wife and daughters.  Gary passed away on July 12, 2001.  Rest in peace, my friend.
