Charlene Knize (Antal)

Charlene died in 1998 after fighting cancer for quite awhile.  She worked at the Beaverton Post Office and was always friendly and helpful, even after she was ill.  She was the driving force for all of our reunions prior to her death.

Blessings, Charlene

What will the 50th reunion be without Charlene?  She was the Queen organizer of reunions, Skyline Tavern gatherings and connecting with others.  I think her postal service job gave her many reasons to be our classmate sleuth.  She will be missed at this 50th gathering.

I have found memories of Charlene and I in Home Econ. Two words stand out about Charlene in high school  "Man Tan" and of course laughter and friendship - Charlene and Charlene.  Live Laugh & Love Always.

Char radiated energy and ideas for fun when we got together in our 20s.  One winter around 1968-9 the temperature dropped into the 10s and Portland iced up.  We drove her MGB to California to get some rays and see car races; instead we found floods, and races were cancelled.  Still, we met young men traveling from Pennsylvania, visited wineries, and came home with cases of wine shoved into the space behind our seats.  She had a  powerful personality.  We'll miss you, Char!
